Larry Football Club on Friday disappointed their fans after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of formidable Samjason Football Club in a friendly match played at Shasha Airforce Base, Akowonjo, Lagos.
The friendly match was organised to prepare Samjason FC ahead of the Ikeja Super League, which commences this month.
Samjason started the friendly on a good note as Gideo Baidoo opened the goal scoring in the early encounter before Thankgod Inegbu scored the second goal in the 37th minute.
Larry, who recruited new players recently were not properly cordinated and their performance was not too impressive as their opponents controlled the the proceeding from the beginning to the end.
Samjason players continued to put pressure on their opponents in the second half until Junior Augustine scored the third goal to make the game difficult for Larry, who were outplayed throughout the encounter, watched by a few fans.
Reacting to the defeat, Larry’s boss, Adewale Sanyaolu, who watched the encounter with his coaching crew expressed his disappointment with the team’s poor performance, saying that the team need to work hard to avoid embarrassing result in future friendly matches.
“From what I watched in the game, I was not too pleased with the team’s performance and the outcome of the result. The boys did not play well, and the coaching crew need to work on their mistakes before their next match,” he said.
Samjason Coach, Samuel Nwanorom, commended his boys for impressive play noted that his team would continue to work hard before the commencement of the Ikeja Super League.
“Today’s game was a real test of character for our boys, against an experienced side. We will keep working on our lapses to improve,” he said.
