A total of 24 teams across the Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA have been drawn into four groups in the forthcoming Ikeja DFA Super League which commences later in the month across designated centres.
At the draws conference held over the weekend at Agege Stadium, six teams were drawn in each group. A winner in each group would qualify for the Super Four, where champions among the best four would emerge to represent the division at the Lagos State League in the next season.
Group A comprises Tuto Atlanta, Usefulyouth FA, African Future Stars, Magboro FC, Starlight FA and Dazzle FA during the draws. Group B are made up of Samjason FA, Dauf FA, Hephzibah FC, Awo Boiz,H is Presence FA and Ghetto Tigers.
Group C consists of Bright Stars International, SGH Sports, Sabo Kingdom Boys, Diamond Stars FA, Prolific Stars and Shuffle Select FA, while Group D are made up of Fackson Next Pro, Vinod FA , CPM, Unification FC, Austenplus FC and ACE Mariners FC.
In his opening speech, Chairman Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA, Rafiu Alagbe commended the teams that showed interest in the league and advised them to play by the rules governing the game.
He explained that the division would not condone any act of indiscipline both on and off the pitch saying that any club found guilty would be fined and sanctioned accordingly.
He however reiterated the division’s commitment to uplifting grassroots football through the Ikeja DFA Super League and assured the participants of good organisation and fair play throughout the league.
Meanwhile, some participants who spoke to our correspondent expressed satisfaction with the draws and opening speech bythe Ikeja DFA boss which reminded them all the challenges encountered last season should be addressed before the commencement of the league and also ensure that all the clubs are treated equally during the league.
