Head Coach of Sporting Football Academy of Surulere, Isiaka Bamigbade says he is not embarrassed with the defeat his team suffered in the hands of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club in a friendly match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.
Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy humiliated Sporting Football Academy 7-3 in a recent friendly match.This friendly match was organised for Sporting FA in preparation for the forthcoming fusion championship.
Bamigbade who confessed that no club or academy has defeated them with a wide margin win in the history of the club described the match a tough one for both side.
“It was a tough match for both teams but i am surprised how my team conceded more goals in this encounter.I am not particularly worried about the result but i am concerned about the development of the players.
“Our defeat was a wake up call and we need to work hard in our grey areas.This type of friendly match is a good one for us so that we can prepare better ahead fusion championship,”he said.
Bamigbade disclosed that the return leg in their home would be tough for Eletu boys and charged his boys to go for victory when both teams clash at the FIFA legacy pitch of national stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Eletu coach, Isreal Adegolu expressed satisfaction with the general performance of the team saying that their victory was as a result of instructions dished out to players during the encounter.
“We had a fantastic game against our opponents.My boys did their best and played to instructions.Of course we would play them in return leg but i still believe that my boys would do better,”he said.
Meanwhile Prince Kazeem Eletu who have not lost a single friendly match recently proved themselves as Chinedu Emmanuel drew the first blood through header in the 13th minutes.
The performance of Eletu boys were outstanding when Chima Okoli and Sulaiman Lawal scored each to take the game out of their opponents.
Sporting boys who were strugled to reduce the tally were embarrassed as Joseph Peace scored the fourth goal for the Eletu boys.The fourth goal spurred their opponents to reduce the tally through Collins Walter.
The second half was more interesting as both teams continued in their scoring form.Sporting boys capitalised on the lackadaisical attitude of Eletu players on the field as Godwin Samuel made it second goal for visiting team.
Raymond Oboh who was thorn in the flesh of their opponents from the beginning was brought down in the 55th minutes but failed to convert his penalty kick awarded to Eletu boys.
The game was so interesting as both teams gave good account of themselves.Precious Ogunseye popularly known Robinho who exhibited high level of commitment scored through header in the 68th minutes to make it 5-2 in the encounter.
Walter from Sporting quickly converted a controversial goal in the 71th minutes to make it 5-3 in the encounter.
Lawal who was adjudged as man of the match almost hit a target in the 78th minutes before he was substitued.The introduction of Wasiu and Usman Adegbola made difference as both players scored each to condemn their opponents to defeat.
