Coming quickly after the success of its qualifiers in the Savannah and Atlantic conferences into the male elite basketball league, Nigeria Basketball Federation has concluded plans to start the qualifying games into the much-anticipated Zenith Bank sponsored female basketball league.
Already 34 teams have been divided into the Atlantic and Savannah conferences for the qualifiers, with 8 teams from each conference, making it into the league proper.
According to the programme of the games, the Atlantic Conference qualifiers is expected to tip off June 1-11, 2023, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State. While the Savannah Conference playoff is slated to hold June 7-17, at the Ahmadu Bello University Court, Kaduna.
Speaking ahead of the qualifiers, a member of the NBBF board, Victor Okoro, remarked that the board is unrelenting in its avowed commitment to ensure that the game regain its prominence in the Nigeria.
