Afeez Aremu Cup Final: Dosu Joseph FC End Year 2025 With Trophy In Lagos

After failing to win 1XBet Cup and Lagos Supremacy Cup played recently, Dosu Joseph Football Club on Tuesday emerged champions at the just concluded Afeez Aremu football tournament.

Dosu Joseph boys defeated Shuffle Select FC 4-3 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation time.

Olurinde Salami scored early goal for Dosu boys before it was cancelled in the early second half through Sulaiman Adams.

The encounter which ended 4-3 on shootout was watched by mammoth crowd at the RVTC mini stadium, Isheri Berger, Ojodu Lagos

Reacting to defeat, Shuffle Select director, Ibrahim Odeyinka expressed satisfaction with the the performance of his boys noted that they were unlucky during the shootout.

“It was a good match for us and the officiating was quite satisfactory.Both teams played good football and unfortunately we were not lucky during the penalty shootout,”he said.

In his own comment, Dosu Joseph Coach,Kayode Agboola said he was delighted that his team ended the outgoing year with trophy and promised that the year 2026 will be better for the club.

“After we failed to win 1Xbet Cup and Lagos Supremacy Cup,I am happy that we won Afeez Aremu Cup to give our fans something to cheer.

“The outgoing year has been challenging but I thank God that Dosu Joseph FC made a serious impacts in all the competitions and I commend my boys, backroom staff and management for their commitment to the success of the club in Afeez Aremu Cup,”he said.

Chairman Organising Committee, Joseph Soyemi expressed gratitude to God for the success of the tournament and the fans and other participating teams for playing to the rules

However, the Cup donor, Aremu thanked the participating teams for the spirit of sportmanship exhibited throughout the competition and congratulated the winners for the job well done.

Medals were presented to the finalists as cash prize money was given to the winners and the runner up courtesy of cup donor,Aremu.
