A Lagos based football enthusiast, Dr Kolapo Kolade has admonished Super Eagles to remain focused after beating Cameroon in the round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Cote D’Ivore.
Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 in the round of 16 to book a place in the quarter finals. With this victory, three time Afric champions would confront Angola in the quarter finals sheduled for Friday evening by 6pm.
Kolade who is also a medical practitioner said that having watched Eagles against Cameroon, the the country stand the chance to reach the final stage and win the tournament.
“I could see Nigerian football fans praising Eagles again after they had condemned them in their group matches. It is obvious that the team are better in each match so i want the tempo to continue and most importantly the team should remain focused if they want to win the tournament,” he said.
Asked if Eagles can go all way to the finals and win the tournament, a Lagos based NPFL match commissioner sounded confident that Nigeria has a team that can win the tournament but quickly cautioned them to avoid complacency in their subsequent matches.
“Right from the time, i am a number one supporter of Eagles even when the teams were crucified by majority of soccer loving Nigerians, i stood by them so i see them winning the cup and the only way they can lose the title unless they lose focus in their subsequent match,”he said.
