Leader of Alimosho Football Coaches Council, Samuel Uchenna Eke has expressed his profound gratitude to the London based Sports philanthropist, Mr Elvis Ewruje for his finacial contribution to the ongoing Alimosho Football Coaches Council, AFCC U-12 and 14 tourneys taking place at the AJ football pitch, Egan, Alimosho, Lagos.
Ewruje who was excited with the story of AFCC with group photograph of Igando Football Club U-12 players posted on a WhatsApp group publicly announced to send money to the organisers to buy boot for the two players in the photograph.
Ewruje sent the sum of N30,000 to the the story writer who personally delivered the money to the organisers of AFCC.
In his statement, Eke thanked the sport philanthropist for his finacial contribution saying that the kind gesture would motivate the organising commiittee to work harder for the success of the tournament.
“On behalf of Alimosho Football Coaches Council, i thank Mr Elvis Ewruje for showing interest in our tournament.Mr Elvis just saw our story with a team group photograph on a particular WhatsApp platform and he chatted with the Journalist who wrote the story and sent the money to him to give us.The money is meant to buy boot for the two players in the photograph.
“This is a great things that happened to our council recently and once again, we thank the philanthropist for this support because it came at the time when the council is organising its football programmes,”the statement read.
Speaking on the kind gesture,Igando boys Coach, Mohammed Aberejo said he was surprised that someone from far place could appreciate his team group photograph and prayed that God would continue to bless him.
“I didn’t know what to say when the leader explained to me that a sport philanthropist sent money to buy boot for the two players from the photograph.This kind gesture would motivate us to work hard because there are some people who are watching what we are doing,”he said.
Meanwhile in the U-14 category.of the tournament, White Soccer Temple thrashed Igando FC 3-1, while Samjason humble B United 4-2.
In the U-12 category group matches, Samjason defeated Sammy Academy 3-2,while Igando FC face Pro Foot Dynamic later in the day.
