Chairman of Smart City Football Club of Lagos, Anthony Adeboye has commended his players and coaching crew for recording two victories against big teams in the ongoing NNL pre-season tournament taking place at the Onikan Stadium. .
Adeboye said this after the team humbled Joy Cometh Football Club of Ikorodu 3-1 and G12 FC 3-1. The preseason also serves as preparatory ground for the teams ahead of Lagos FA Cup.
Adeboye, who doubles as a senior Special Assistant on Sports to Lagos State Governor, expressed support to his team and promised to motivate both the players and coaching crew in the future football competitions.
Addressing the players at Onikan Stadium yesterday after winning G12 football administrator explained that the management is happy with the team’s performance and assured them better welfare package in the future competitions.
He, however, urged them to remain focused and steadfast throughout the ore season tournament.
Meanwhile, in the match played on Wednesday against G12, Chinedu Enuademu opened the scoring for Smart City in 10th minutes.
Both teams played good fooball but Obi Ifeanyi made it second goal for the newly NNL team before Fatai Ibrahim scored the third goal for Smart City in the 88th minutes.
Smart City would continue their preseason tournament this morning by playing against Sporting FC of Lagos.
