Out of 20 streets in Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State that took part at the just concluded second edition of Adaamasunle Community Games, Pipeline street sport team emerged the champion.
The community Games was organised by Adaamasunle Foundation as part of its primary duties in line with the special Consultative status with United Nations Economic & Social Council.
Four games were adopted by the foundation.The games such as Bowling, Netball, picture puzzle and ball race.
At the end of the contest, Pipeline street had 94 points to emerge overall winner, followed by Alabede street with 92 points, while Iyiola Ololu street had 89 points to occupy third position.
The Community Games were watched by hundred of spectators at the Pipeline playground, Aboru. Organisers presented giant trophy to the winner with the cartoon of indomine.Other participants were also went home with pack of indomine and dozen of exercise books for the job well done.
Founder of Adaamasunle Foundation, Adeola Olaleye expressed satisfaction with the preparations of the participating streets and particularly congratulated overall winner for its impressive performance throughout the games.
He explained that the community games was sponsored as part of the Foundation commitment to engage the youths through sporting activities and vocational training.
“We are not sponsoring this for fun of it but we are doing this in line with our commitment to the special Consultative status with United Nations Economic & Social Council and our duties to them is to engage the youths on regular basis.The games would be documented, reported and submitted to the United Nations for ratification and assessment soonest,”he said.
Olaleye said this year’s edition lived up to expectations and quickly announced that the third edition would be held March ,2024.
