It was pure joy and happiness on the faces and hearts of thousands of members of the public in the Ikeja Federal Constituency, who were beneficiaries of the yearly Hon. Abiodun Faleke empowerment programme.
With over five thousands beneficiaries on ground at the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, the event would go down in history, as one of the biggest and most impactful empowerment programmes, ever put together by a politician.
Beneficiaries which included religious leaders, artisans and petty traders received tricycles, mini-buses, cars, delivery motorbikes, grinding machines, juice making machines, freezers and generators, phone repair kits, industrial sewing machines.
Traditional rulers, security agencies and local health centres in the Ikeja Federal Constituency were also captured, as they received luxury jeeps, vans and well-equipped health buses.
Speaking during the event, one of the beneficiaries, Sule Wahab, who received a mini-bus was effusive in praises and prayers for Faleke. He expressed untold happiness and gratitude for the gift, which he admitted would change his fortunes for the better.
Some other beneficiaries thanked the people’s-oriented group, YP4T, for facilitating their being parts of the beneficiaries. YP4T, a group of young and patriotic professional Nigerians, have been strong supporters and believers in such initiatives of the Faleke’s empowerment programme, which is line tandem, with the welfarist policies of the government of President Bola Tinubu.
