Lagos Ex-internationals Cup: Dosu Reacts After Team’s Slim Defeat At Onikan Stadium

Ex international, Joseph Dosu has reacted to his team’s 2-1 loss against FC Barbington in the day one of the ongoing Lagos Ex-internationals Cup.

FC Bode Barbington who adopted Ikorodu City FC in the competition defeated FC Dosu 2-1 at Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium on Monday evening.

The competition which kicked off on Monday is put together by Lagos State Football Association LSFA and sponsored by Bet9ja Foundation.

Reacting to the team’s defeat, former Atlanta Olympics football gold medalist expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team and described the encounter a tough one for his boys.

He showered praises on his players for the brilliant performance display during the encounter and urged them to remain focused in their return leg.

“It was a good outing for us despite our narrow defeat.My boys were fantastic throughout the game and they gave everything to win their opponents unfortunately we conceded the second goal as a result of error from our defenders.

“However I also want to commend ad congratulate our opponents for the hard fought victory.Their victory was well deserved and I won’t forget match officials and commissioner for the job well done to ensure that the match went smoothly without any problem during and after the game,”he said.

Asked if his team could turn the table around in the second leg, Dosu said it would be a tough game for the both teams saying that the the two teams had equal chance to progress to the next round.

In other results, FC Giwa whipped FC Temile 5-2, FC Ekpo lost 1-3 to FC Ipaye at home, while FC Oguntuase suffered 0-1 defeat to FC Omoruyi at home.

Meanwhile, a total of 32 Ex-internationals are taking part in the competition.They adopted a team of their choice and they are expected to be in charge of their adopted team throughout the competition.
