Coach of Hephzibah Sporting Club,SC Chukwuka Donatus has boasted that his boys deserved victory following 1-1 scoreline recorded against Chekas United Feeders in week six of the ongoing Lagos State League which held on Friday at the Nigeria Navy Secondary School, Alakija,Amuwo-Odofin.
Donatus while speaking with our correspondent after the game explained that both teams played purposeful football but noted that his boys created chances more than their opponents in the encounter watched by appreciable crowd.
He explained that his boys were technically and physically fit in the game but blamed them for being wasteful in the front of goal.
“We came here to stop unbeaten records of Chekas United Feeders at their home unfortunately it ended in stalemate.It was not a bad result for us but i must confess that my boys deserved to win this game,”he said.
On his own comment,Head Coach of Chekas United Feeders, Richard Nwosu expressed his displeasure over the team’s poor performance and charged his boys to wake up from the slumbers in their next game.
“This is worse performance of my boys since State league kicked off.Truly my boys failed in all departments but thank God that it ended in draw.I commend our opponents for their brilliant performance and we would go back to our training session and correct our mistakes,”he said.
Elochukwu Nnaji scored for the Chekas boys in the 30th minutes after visiting team missed some glaring chances in the early encounter.
Chekas boys were completely outplayed in the early second half and Hephzibah boys effort was rewarded when Gideon Joseph quickly got the equaliser to end the game in stalemate.
Meanwhile this is not the best time for Bucknor FC after they suffered 3-5 at home yesterday against Olufunke FC.
With this defeat, Bucknor who were very impressive in the last season are facing relegation in the group after failing to record a victory since their league campaign.
