The Francis & Fidelia Ibhawoh Foundation has announced that entries are officially open for the 2026 edition of its Annual Essay Competition for undergraduates.
This year’s topic, “AI, Technology & Education for Nigeria’s Digital Future,” addresses a pivotal moment in our academic history. As Artificial Intelligence reshapes global landscapes, the Foundation seeks to spark a critical dialogue on how these tools can be harnessed to foster “smart learning” rather than “smart cheating.” The competition challenges students to explore how innovation can drive development while maintaining academic integrity.
According to the Ibhawoh Foundation, the competition which is targeted at full-time undergraduate students in designated Nigerian universities, would see each winner going home with the prize of N200,000.00 each.
The submission window for essay competition is slated for May 1, 2026 to May 30, 2026. And the word count shall be 2,500-3,000 words of original work.
According to Gerard Ibhawoh, Chairman of the Foundation, “We believe Nigeria’s youth are the architects of our digital destiny. This competition provides a platform for them to propose solutions for a balanced, tech-driven future.”
The foundation advised interested applicants seeking the full requirements and application forms, to visit www.ibhawohfoundation.com or email [email protected].
