Organisers of the just concluded ‘Except The Lord Cup’ have expressed gratitude to the participating teams, media and football fans for making this year’s edition a successful one.
The one-day event tagged ‘Except The Lord Cup’, was held on Tuesday at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Abaraje Road, Ikotun, Alimosho, Lagos.
Sansan Boys emerged champions after defeating Avengers 2-1 in the final watched by a mammoth crowd.
Match convener, Seun Ogunwo, while speaking with journalists after the successful event, said he was grateful to God for the successful one-day event tagged’Except The Lord Cup’
Ogunwo, popularly known as Except The Lord, noted that he was happy that all the invited eight teams honoured his invitation and thanked them for the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited throughout the one-day event.
He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the fans, media and other football stakeholders who contributed one way or the other to make this year’s edition a memorable one and promised that the next edition would be bigger and better.
“My appreciation goes to our invited teams who honoured our invitations. Some teams came from far and near, and I thank them for honouring us. I also extend my gratitude to the media who worked tirelessly to make the event a glamorous one, and I will not forget the fans, friends and well- wishers who came from far and near to honour us. May God bless them,” he said.
Teams participated are Balo FC, Mbah Logistics FC,Bucknor FC,Take It Flex FC, Avengers FC,Fackson Next Pro FC, Pentecostal FC and Sansan Boys FC.
