Reprieve For BDFA Board Members As Lagos FA Lifts Ban On Suspension

The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has announced the lifting of the disciplinary ban placed on Coaches Bishop Lawson Sampson, Michael Adebayo and Mr. Michael Toyon.

This decision was reached at a Virtual Emergency Extraordinary Congress Meeting of the Lagos State Football Association held on Tuesday, 27th January, 2026.

The meeting that had eight (8) board members and ten (10) congress members in attendance, commenced at 8:30pm and concluded by 9.27 pm, was presided over by the Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed.

The official release from the Lagos FA Secretariat and signed by its Secretary, Mrs Vera Jatto Okechukwu, stated that following the receipt and careful consideration of appeal letters submitted by the affected parties, and after extensive deliberations, the Congress, unanimously resolved to lift the lengthy ban previously imposed on the trio.

This decision was taken in the interest of fairness, rehabilitation, and the continued promotion of peace and development within Lagos State football.

The Lagos State Football Association maintains its committed to upholding discipline, while also providing opportunities for reconciliation and progress in football administration.
