Dosu Joseph Football Club on Monday morning recorded 2-1 victory over 36 Lion Football Club in the opening match of the 2025 Lagos Supremacy Cup at the FIFA legacy pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos
The two teams came to the match with high expectations but Dosu Joseph players who were more determined got the better result at the encounter watched by appreciable crowd.
Speaking after the match,Dosu Joseph Coach,Kayode Agboola said it was a tough match but commended his boys for their determination throughout the encounter.
“It was not an easy match for my boys because I know that our opponents are equally good.I am happy that my boys played well and we were able to come out victorious,,”he said
Reacting to the defeat,36Lion Coach,Akinshola Francis Akinrele expressed disappointment with the outcome of the game and blamed their defeat as a result of Player’s blunders.
In other results, defending champions, Beyond Limits defeated Broad City 3-2,Ikorodu City came from behind to play 2-2 with Mavlon FC, while Tripple 44 FC defeated Real Sapphire FC 2-1.
Meanwhile the tournament coordinator,Wale Joseph also expressed his satisfaction with the preparedness of the teams saying that more talents would be discovered at the tournament progresses.
He however advised the players and coaches to always abide by the rules governing the game and warned that any team violates the rules would be sanctioned accordingly.
Action continues on Tuesday morning as four matches line up in the day two of the scouting programme.
