Ex international, Nduka Ugbade has expressed delight and satisfaction with the superb organisation of the U-15 Seamoriow Football League Championship.
Ugbade disclosed this while speaking with Journalists at the just concluded U-15 Seamoriow Football League Championship held recently at Seamoriow Sport Complex Abaranje Road, Ikotun Alimosho Lagos.
Former Golden Eaglets coach first and foremost congratulated the organisers on the success of the competition saying that the championship has brought the best out of some young lads and limelight.
He explained that aside the prize money given to the teams and outstanding players,he commended the sponsor, Oluwaseyi Amos for his contributions to the football development in the state and urged other sports philanthropists to follow suit.
“This is a laudable project and I need to commend the sponsor for sustaining this championship in the last four years.I also want to thank the organising committee for their commitment to the competition.
I must commend them( organisers) for job well done in area of crowd management, security and coordinating the teams throughout the championship.This is superb and I am satisfied with the arrangements of the final,”he said.
Commenting on the final match between Seamoriow FA and defending champions, B-united FA, former Super Eagles player admitted that both teams played well but noted that the best team emerged as champions.
In his closing remark,the cup donor, Amos thanked Ugbade and other invited guests for taking their time to grace the grandfinale.
He also extended his appreciation to the organising committee led by Dotun Coker and other match officials for their efforts throughout the tournament.
He however praised the football fans and other Seamoriow family who worked round the clock to make this year’s edition a memorable one and promised that next edition would be better and glamorous.
Meanwhile Seamoriow FA defeated defending champions B United 6-1 to emerge as champions, while Adhoc FA walloped 36 Lion FA 3-1 in the third place match.
Seamoriow Boys went home with the sum of N3.1million and a giant trophy, while B United and Adhoc FA went home with the N1.1 million and N800,000 respectively.
Some individual awardees also went home with cash and gift items.
