A Lagos based club, Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club on Friday evening were fantastic following their hard fought 2-1 victory over Glorious Day Football Club in a friendly match played at the Nathaniel Idowu pitch, Ajegunle.
The match whick kicked off by 5pm saw Eletu boys took a lead through Ramon Abiona in the 20th minutes.
The homers gave a good account of themselves but Eletu boys who were tactically disciplined also lived up to expectations as both team’s performance excited the mammoth fans who came to watch the game.
Both teams increased the tempo of the game in the second half.Glorious Days who were desperate for equalizer were caged by Eletu defenders.
Prince Kazeem Eletu goalie,Suraj was delighted to watch as he made some saves during the encounter.
Abiona who was a thorn in the flesh of his opponents scored a second goal to make encounter difficult for the homers.
After too much pressure, a controversial penalty was awarded to the homers which was quickly converted by Tarry Elijah.
Eletu boys who were resilient continued to absorb the pressure after Jude Obasi was given marching order by the center refree.
Effort by Glorious Day to get equalizer in the encounter was denied by its opponents as high tension soaked match ended 2-1 in favour of visiting team.
Reacting to the defeat, Glorious Day Coach,Tony Agada expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players and congratulated his opponents for the job well done.
“It was an interesting match and the two teams played better unfortunately we could not draw the game.What really worked for our opponents was that they played to coach instructions and they were tactically disciplined on the field of play inspite of the pressure we put on them towards the end of the game,”he said.
