Eight teams would fight for the semi final tickets in the ongoing Gafaar Bolowotan Memorial Gold Cup taking place at the Police Barracks playground, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos
The competition which kicked off some weeks ago is being sponsored by the former Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission,Alhaji Gafaar Oluwatoyin Bolowotan.
In the quarter final fixtures released by the match coordinator,Lukman Sonibare, the quarter final matches would hold on Monday and Tuesday.
In the first quarter final match on Monday, Arubinjaga FA tackle Sportellectual FC by 1pm, while Amazing United battle Brighton FC by 3pm
On Tuesday, Arise & Shine FC confront Kareem FC by 1pm, while Alajede Active Talent go to war against Formidable FC.
Speaking ahead of quarter final matches, Sonibare had urged the participants to play by the rules saying that if any team found wanting during or after the match would be sanctioned accordingly.
“We are now in a crucial stage where we would be strict with our rules and regulations. We want the teams to do away with social vices that can tarnish the image of the competition.
“We have started well and we want to end this tournament well by God grace.I believe all matches would be tough because this is a crucial stage where fans and other stakeholders want the best teams to reach the semi final stage. I wish all the teams best of luck as they are preparing for their quarter final matches,”he said.
