A Lagos based professional side, Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club on Tuesday morning were denied their victory following 2-2 played against NNL side, Beyond Limit Football Club in a friendly match held at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Prior to the match, Eletu boys met Beyond Limit twice at the Remo Stars Stadium recently and it ended 3-0 and 2-0 in favour of their opponents.
It was a different ball game when both teams clashed on Tuesday morning as Prince Kazeem Eletu drew the first blood through Yusuf Lawal in the 10th minutes.
The early goal spurred the homers to increase the intensity of the game but thanked to Eletu defence and goalkeeper who denied them equaliser.
Eletu, who were determined to win the game, got the second goal through Favour Daniel in the 29th minutes to make the encounter difficult for the homers.
Eletu boys who also gave a good account of themselves from the blast of whistle had more scoring chances in the first half but they were not clinical in front of goal.
Beyond Limit made some tactical changes in the second half which saw Muyideen Olude reduced the goal deficit in the early second half.
Eletu boys failed to converted their scoring chances that came their way and gave their opponents opportunity to push forward to get late equaliser through Rawa Muhammed in the 82th minutes to send their fans into wild jubilation.
Reacting to the encounter, Prince Kazeem Eletu Coach, Isreal Adegolu expressed delight with his team’s performance but worried how his strikers failed to convert numerous scoring chances in the encounter.
In his own comment, General manager of Eletu team, Muftau Eletu commended the players for their impressive form against Beyond Limit, saying that the team have improved tremendously in their recent friendlies.
While assistant coach of Beyond Limit, Dare Amusa admitted that their opponents were better and compact on the field but also hailed his boys for giving their opponents a run for their money in highly entertaining friendly game.
