Tinubu Flags Off Unity Torch as Ogun Prepares For National Sports Festival

His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, officially flagged off the Unity Torch movement Tuesday at a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who reaffirmed the state’s readiness to host the upcoming National Sports Festival and the former governor of the state, Aremo Segun Osoba.

The Unity Torch, a symbol of peace and unity, highlights the importance of national cohesion through sports. Governor Abiodun emphasized that Ogun State is committed to delivering a world-class sporting event that will celebrate talent, promote unity, and showcase the state’s excellence.

The 22nd National Sports Festival, Gateway Games, Ogun 2024, is scheduled to take place in Abeokuta from May 16 to 30, 2025. The state government has assured athletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts of a well-organized festival that will set new benchmarks in Nigeria’s sporting history.
