Nigeria Football Supporters Club Departs Lagos For Uyo Ahead of Zimbabwe Clash

BY JOSEPH ODOEKWU

Members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) departed Lagos for Uyo in the early hours of Monday morning ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

The club’s private arrangement became necessary after news got to them that there are no plans for the Marcopolo buses which were supposed to be used will materialize.

Their departure which kicked-off in the early hours of Monday started with prayers at the club’s secretariat in Surulere, Lagos after which members took a roll call and boarded two hummer buses which were hired from the Akwa Ibom Transport Company to take them to Uyo.

Despite looking forward to marking the club’s 70th anniversary later this year, the executive and members who have been making sacrifices for the national teams went into action to mobilize their members for the trip to Uyo which could take them another 12 hours.
