Former Adamawa Queens midfielder, Gift Kanu, says she has recovered from an injury that kept her away from active football, saying that she is now ready to play in the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL.

Gift disclosed this while speaking with our correspondent on Sunday that she cannot wait to return to the league and noting that her personal training for some months now was quite impressive.

Kanu, who sustained her injury in Elite AC from the Benin Republic league last year, said she is free to play for any NWFL club that comes for her service.

“Presently, offers are coming, but I want to take my time to see which club can give me playing time.I am available for any club that is interested in me, “she said.

Asked which club she prefers to play for in NWFL clubs, the Abia-born player said all the clubs are good but she is ready to play for a club that would give her playing time.

“I cannot sign for a club where I would not have playing time. If Rivers Queens or Remo Queens sign me today,I believe I should have a playing time with these clubs because I have league experience and I have played outside the country in my career,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kanu started her football career with Standard Babes, known today as Abia Angels. She joined Adamawa Queens before she moved to Elite AC of Benin Republic, where she spent two seasons before and sustained a major injury that kept her away from active football.

Gift, who has tasted Nigerian and Benin Republic league in her career, has enough experience and is ready to return to Nigeria Women Football League soon.
