The much-anticipated U-16 Mabel Madojiemu Athletics Competition will commence from 20 through 22, February 2025 at the Igueben Grammar School, main field, Igueben, Edo State.
The three-day athletics competition is being sponsored by Nigeria’s former quarter-miler, Princess Mabel Madojiemu as part of her contributions to develop and promote track and field events among inter schools in Edo State.
Some selected secondary schools in Edo North and Central are expected to take part in the competition as organisers are fully ready to organise hitch free tournament.
Speaking on the preparation, the sponsor, Princess Madojiemu said the organizing and planning committee had been set up while some schools were contacted for the competition.
She said the sixth edition would be a glamorous and colourful one and urged the participating schools to begin early preparation for the competition.
“Presently the organising committee has been set up and it has started working already. I am impressed with the report I get from the committee so far.
“However, the committee has notified schools in North and Central in Edo concerning this programme and I am satisfied with the preparation so far,”s he said.
