Team Manager of Bucknor Football Club of Alimosho, Adebowale Habeeb said his players were not at their best which caused the team’s defeat in the round of 64 in the ongoing Lagos State Challenge Cup popularly known as Lagos FA Cup.

Divine Praise FC defeated Bucknor FC 4-3 in a penalty shootout after one goal apiece in regulation time.

The pulsating tie was held Saturday morning at the Maracana stadium, Ajegunle, Lagos.

Habeeb who was disappointed with the outcome of the match said his players gave their best but unfortunately, some of the players were panicked and anxious during the penalty shootout.

“I am not happy with the way our boys responded in the penalty shootout. Some of them were anxious and not confident which was responsible for our ouster.

“We however congratulated our opponents for their victory and wish them the best of luck in their next match. Our coaching crew have learnt some lessons which I believe would be corrected in our subsequent matches, “he said.

Kingsley Enoch opened the goal-scoring for Divine Praise in the early game. Udoezor Onyeka got an equaliser for Bucknor to drag the game to the penalty shootout.
