No fewer than 84 clubs are expected to feature in the 2025 Lagos State Challenge Cup known as Lagos FA Cup
The biggest football tournament would kick off next month across designated centres in the state.
The secretary of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Rabiu-Okikioposu Akeem, confirmed that 84 clubs have duly registered for the Lagos FA Cup and urged them to start preparations for the tournament.
“I can confirm that we have 80 male clubs registered, while only four teams registered in the female category.
“The tournament would commence next month and I urge the coaches to start their preparation now by engaging their clubs in friendly matches to keep the players fit ahead of next month’s tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile, the state football ruling body is in talks with the Betting Company, Winners Golden Bet, WGB, to renew their sponsorship deal ahead of next month’s football tourney.
“We are still in chat with our sponsor, WGB to renew their sponsorship deal with us. The company had sponsored Lagos FA Cup before and I believe that they would sponsor us this year,” said Akeem who wished the teams best of luck in the forthcoming Lagos FA Cup.
