A call has gone to the members of Agege Football Coaches Council to be more advance and proactive in their coaching techniques during training session or match situation.
This was disclosed by the guest speaker, Coach Ayo Filani while addressing the coaches at the coaching seminar organised by Agege Football Coaches Council as part of coaches’ week held recently at the NYSC Camp indoor Hall, Iyana-Ipaja, Alimosho, Lagos.
Filani, who titled his topic “Expectations Of A Coach In Players Development said coaches should have expectations during the match and training sessions.
He mentioned the three main domain of development in players such as physical, cognitive and psychosocial which is very important for coaches to take cognizance of while training their players.
Filani who is currently lecture in NIS reminded the coaches stages of players development and highlighted that players should be active, learning to train and training to compete.
He also explained in details how coaches can create a positive training environment and outlined the importance of planning and organisation in players development.
Another guest speaker, Babajide Olusegun who titled his lecture”Developing A Mind-Set of Greatness” charged the coaches to believe in their visions and they should leverage on available information that can help their career.
He furthered said coaches should always look for knowledge and avoid people who cannot add value to their lives.
Meanwhile leader of Agege Football Coaches Council, Olumide Ajayi thanked the speakers for their topics saying that the seminar is a reminder for coaches to know their strength and weaknesses on their coaching job.
Some of the coaches who spoke to our correspondent expressed satisfaction with the seminar and commended the leadership of the council for organising a seminar at this moment when many coaches needed refresher courses.
Awards certificate were given to six coaches for making the council proud in their various clubs, while council also appreciated its stakeholders with award for their immense contribution to the success of the council in the outgoing year.
All exco members of the council also received an award for their commitment and dedication to the council throughout the year.
