It was a day of celebration for the football fans of Ajegunle after their two teams qualified for the next round of the ongoing Rising Star Football League.
The much anticipated Rising Star Football League kicked with funfair on Friday at the Nathaniel Idowu Sports center, Ajegunle, Lagos.
Hundreds of fans witnessed the opening match as Ajegunle fans were delighted to see their two teams came out victorious.
In the opening match, Justice Glorious Intervention FC of Ajeromi defeated Samba Boys of Ojo 4-2 on penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time.
Ajegunle Young Stars humbled Straightway FC of Iba 2-1, while Coal City of Ajeromi lost 1-2 to Roro FC Okokomaiko.
Action continues on Sunday at the Ashiriabo playground, Badagry Express Road, while More Wins Foundation face Tico FC by 10am.
Amazing Grace International battle Ishashi FC by noon, while Arich FC confront Lucky FC by 2pm as Great Femo Scorpion take on Arising Stars by 4pm.
General coordinator, Martins Osondu said the tournament which kicked off on Friday lived up to expectations and thanked Ajegunle football fans for coming out en masse to witness the colourful and glamorous opening match.
He reminded the participants to always play according to the rules and commended the entire organising committee for the job well done.
