Organisers of the Football Fiesta Competition have sounded note of warnings to teams to comport themselves and shun any social vices that can tarnish the image of the tournament.
The much anticipated football fiesta which is put together by Sansan Boys Football Promotion would kick off on Sunday at the Proposed palace playground, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.
Match coordinator, Habeeb Bello in a chat with our correspondent early today said the organisers had rolled out the rules & regulations and teams have promised to abide by the rules governing the competition.
“We are going to strict with our rules and regulations and we are not going to spare any team that violate the rules.
“We are aware that some teams have their large fans and they should talk to them during their matches because if we found any team guilty during or after their game would be sanctioned accordingly,”he said.
Bello noted that the competition would be better orgainsed and promised all teams fair officiating.
He however disclosed that teams can file a protest letter instead of taking law into their hands before their next match.
“A team can file a protest letter if they feel aggrieved after their match instead of taking laws into their hands. We welcome such action because we have our disciplinary committee in place to look into the issue and resolve it amicably before their next match,”he said.
A total of 16 teams are expected to feature in the tournament in an home and away format.
The opening match would be played on Sunday between Sansan Boys against Sterling FC by 4pm.
Two matches would be played on Monday as Bora FC face Keep Fit FC by 1:45pm, while Rocky Stars tackle Supreme FC by 3:45pm.
