The Western Africa Youth Baseball5 Regional qualifier billed to begin this weekend in Lagos Nigeria will kick-off as Nigeria face Ghana in an opening jollof derby match.
According to the fixtures released by the organizer, defending champions Ghana will slug it out with hosts Nigeria by 9am WAT at the NIS Complex on Saturday after which Tunisia will face Benin Republic by 10:30am.
At exactly 1pm of the same date, Benin Republic will tackle Nigeria before Ghana face Tunisia at 2:30pm and that will be the final match for the day.
The tournament continues on Sunday morning by 9 with Benin Republic facing Ghana before Nigeria tackles Tunisia in the final match.
The third place match will be played immediately by 1:30pm and the final match comes up by 2:30pm which will be immediately followed by a closing ceremony.
The last two teams to reach the final will join other African teams from other regions in an African championship where one African side will emerge to represent Africa in the World Cup.
Other African teams who have who have qualified for the African championship are Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
