Chairman Shomolu/Bariga Football Club, Shola Idebi has issued a stern warnings to teams that are in group B of 1XBET Community Cup to beware of his team when the tourney kicks off on August 5, 2024 at the Legacy pitch of national stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The much anticipated 1XBET Community Cup draws which held yesterday in Lagos saw defending champions, Shomolu/ Bariga FC drew in group B alongside with Collins Edwin FC, Team360 FC, Dosu Joseph FA and Ilupeju Pillars from Ekiti State.
Reacting to the draws, Idebi boasted that his team are not afraid of any team in the group and warned them to prepare for war when they confront defending champions.
“The other teams should be afraid of us because we are defending champions and formidable team that can wreck havoc.Of course our group is toughest group considering the NLO teams and team from Ekiti drew in the group.
“It is going to be a tough match for all the teams and we would approach all our matches with all seriousness.There are no room for complacency and no room for errors.My boys are going to the field of play with high expectations and we cannot afford to lose any game when the tournament starts,”he said.
Commenting on the preparation, Coach of Shomolu/Bariga boys, Ayo Julius said his team have engaged in top friendly matches which brought the best of out his boys.
He said the team had played six matches,lost one and won five.He disclosed that the management has lined up more friendly matches before their first game match in 1XBET Community Cup.
“We have recruited some new players because some of our players who were with us last year have gotten offers in various clubs within and outside the country and there is need for us to get new players which informed us to play more friendly matches to prepare them for the 1XBET Cup,”he said.
A total of 20 teams are expected to take part in the competition being sponsored by IXBET betting company.
