Head Coach of Hayfash Football Club of Sango-Otta, Akinola Israel Akinlawon has been elected as Leader of Ado-Odo Ota Football Coaches Council.
Akinlawon polled 26 votes, while his opponent polled nine in the election held recently at Joju indoor sports hall, Sango-Otta,Ogun State.
Other candidates were elected unopposed. They are Coach Taoreed Adeniran as Deputy Leader, Coach Opara Jonathan as General Secretary and Coach Mohammed Ramon as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Others are Coach Abolaji Bamisebi elected as Welfare Officer, Coach Akinyemiju Akintayo as Treasurer, Coach Elegbede Kazeem as Financial Secretary, Coach Agada Noah as training officer, while Coach Ozuem Lucas as chief whip.
Akinlawon in a chat with our correspondent expressed gratitude to God for the victory and promised that his tenure would change the face of coaching job in Sango-Otta and its environs.
“I thank God for the victory and my victory is for the good of coaches in Sango-Otta and its environs.During my own time, a lot of things would be changed and i will ensure that all the football coaches are empowered one way or the other,”he said.
Akinlawon however called on football coaches to unite themselves and work towards common goal. He said one of the problems of grassroots coaches is inability to speak in one voice and agree to do things together adding that he would do everything possible to ensure that coaches speak in one voice on issue bordering coaching job in the council.
