Head Coach of Team Nigeria male team, Ladan Bosso has reacted after his team’s hard-fought victory over South Sudan in the ongoing African Games taking place in Ghana.
Nigeria male team on Monday night defeated South Sudan 1-0 to brighten their chances of reaching the semi final stage.
Sadiq Muhammed penalty kick in the 80th minutes was what Nigeria needed to send their opponents out of the tournament at the Accra Sports Complex.
With this victory, Nigeria have three points after losing their opening match and they need an outright victory against Senegal to book a place in the semi final.
Bosso, while addressing journalists in Accra admitted that their opponents gave them a good fight but thanked God for the hard-fought victory.
“It was a hard-fought victory and I thank God that we got the three points we needed.Our preparation was not solid because we had a limited time to prepare for the games, ” he said.
In his own reaction, South Sudan coach, Bilal Felix commended his team for their performance, but frowned at officiating during the match.
He also praised Nigeria team for their impressive display, but was disappointed that his team could not go far in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Uganda have booked a place in the semi final after defeating Senegal 1-0.
Nigeria need to beat Senegal to reach the semi final stage.
