Some members of Bash Ali Fans Club of Nigeria (BAFCON) celebrated the African Boxing Ambassador, legendary Bashiru Lawrence Ali, OON, to a birthday bash in Abuja Tuesday night.
The World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight champion clocked 68 years on Tuesday 27 February.
The BAFCON members took Bash Ali by surprised as they gathered to honour him as an icon who has stood up to show the real class of patriotism expected of a citizen of a nation when he defied all odds to insist that the Guinness World Record Boxing Championship would only be staged in his country, Nigeria despite juicy offers from different nations across the world, having known the multiplier effects such championship would have in the socio-economic life of the host nation.
