Guests Speaker Series: Former Afghan Women International Shares Experience With Asisa Oshoala Academy Girls

In its bid to give its wards an all-encompassing training both on and off the pitch, an Afghanistan’s renowned football administrator, Khalida Popal was at the academy in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, to give the girls talks on career and character development.

Popal is the founder and director of Girl Power Organization, the Program and Event Director of the Afghanistan Women’s National Football Team, Ambassador to Street Child World Cup, and the Event Manager & Mentor/ Refugee Consultant in COLUM.

She is also the former leader of the Afghanistan women’s football committee, former Finance Officer of the Afghanistan Football Federation, former captain of the Afghanistan Women’s National Football Team, and former football coach of the Under-17 and Under-15 women’s football teams in Afghanistan.

On Monday, Popal joined the Asisat Oshoala Academy (AOA) girls for their core character session to share with the girls her journey and experience.

The session which lasted for a couple of hours took the girls to different aspect of life, both on and off the pitch and the girls were so glad that an administrator of a high repute in women football could be at the AOA to boost their career in the round leather game.
