A four-man team comprises three male and one female archer will be in the city of Nabeul, Tunisia to participate at the 13th Africa Archery Championship which holds from 8-12 November 2023.
The teams are Olashehinde Olatayo Olawale, Oyeleke Seun Emmanuel, Sholademi Damilola Bartholomew (US-based) who are male archers and Enyenihi Kachollom Larai a female archer.
Secretary General of Nigeria Archery Federation, Olatunji Gbenga said the championship is a qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, adding that the Nigerian archers will depart the chores of the country on 6 November and return back on 13 November.
The archers will be travelling on their personal expenses and be responsible for all expenses at the championships.
Twenty countries are taking part in the tournament. They include Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Chad, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
