Assistant coach of Flying Eagles, Fatai Amoo has expressed satisfaction with the standard of play by the teams in the ongoing 1XBET Final 8 Community Cup taking place at the LASU sports center.
The 1XBET final 8 began early on Monday after five teams emerged winners from each conference with three teams got a wild card.
Fatai who was invited by the organisers told our correspondent that all the eight teams lived up to expectations and commended the title sponsor, 1XBET betting company for taking the football to the grassroots.
“This is a good initiative from the sponsor.I am satisfied with the quality of players in this competition and i must commend the organisers for giving the young footballers a platform to showcase their talents,”he said.
He explained further the standard of play by the teams are quite impressive saying that he may invite one or two players to Flying Eagles in the future.
In his response, tournament cordinator, Waheed Akanni also commended the teams for their good performance noted that it has been an exciting tournament from the conference to the final 8.
“This is a competition that allows young footballers to showcase their talents.We have seen some players who are expectionally good and i believe that some of them can be invited to Golden Eaglets or Flying Eagles in the nearest future,”he said.
As at press time, three teams have qualified for the semifinal. Bariga FC defeated Eduz FC 2-1, Fackson lost 1-2 to Young Strikers, while Glory Boys also lost 1-2 to Elite FC.
