Organisers of the ongoing Ikoyi-Obalende,(IKOBA) Principal Cup Pre-Season have sent a strong warning to the participating schools to desist from age cheating saying that any school found wanting would be sanctioned and disqualified.
IKOBA Principal Cup Pre Season kicked off some weeks ago at the Wahab Folawiyo High School, Ikoyi,Lagos Island.
Since competition had started,some schools were alleged to have used over aged players which caused arguments among principals, coaches and match officials.
Tournament cordinator, Olayinka Shokoya told our correspondent that he is not happy that there are some schools allegedly used over aged players in their past matches and warned such schools to desist from age cheating.
“I was not around in some matches but the reports i got from other organisers showed that some schools violated the rules by using students who are above official age to play in particular category of Principal Cup Pre Season.
“Presently some schools are under investigation and once the disciplinary commiittee found them guilty, such schools would be fined and disqualified,”he said.
Meanwhile the last group matches would hold tomorrow from morning till evening.In the fixtures released by the organisers, Falomo face GOCOVI, while Akande schools battle Ireti School in the junior category.
In the senior category, Ilado School tackle Wahab Folawiyo High School, In the senior girls category, Ilado school face Falomo school.
