Chairman of YG Football Club, Yusuf Garuba says he expects his team to reach super four at the end of the Ikeja Super League.
The Ikeja Super League is being orgainsed by Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA and the league is expected to kick off in few days to come.
Garuba in a chat with our correspondent said his team are in good shape boasting that the coaching crew had recruited new young players to fortify the team ahead of the league.
“We are not only ready but we have done necessary things to make the players play better in the league. The new players have joined the team and the management has motivated them to go far and what i am expecting from them is to qualify for the super four at the end of the league season,”he said.
Asked if his team can win the league, Garuba said winning the league is part of the team’s main target but insisted that the club must qualify for the super four first before thinking of winning the title.
“It is too early for me to say we are going to win the league but first and foremost our first target is to qualify for super four and from there, we would be thinking of winning the league.Of course every team want to win the league but we would take it one after the other when the league starts this month,”he said.
Meanwhile chairman of Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Rafiu Alagbe has urged the club owners to submit their player’s licencing and other documents to enable them to start the league this month.
