86-year-old Veronica Nabuuma was today (January 13) among the 2,124 graduates who attained various disciplines from the Miracle Bible College in partnership with Life Christian University.
Nabuuma, who attained a certificate in ministry and leadership, said her love to seek, find, and know God forced her to go back to school and study.
She said the majority of the people are now focused on earthly things, and they are forgetting who their creator is.
“We need to focus more on God because He knows our yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” “We need to know him because he’s everything,” Nabuuma said.
She said the generation of children is running away from school because they don’t know what they are missing, adding that if only the current education had been available in the early 1880s, Uganda would have developed further.
Nabuuma noted that education is a key to Uganda’s development.
“If we can have a generation that embraces education, Uganda will develop at the fastest rate, just like the rest of the other developed countries,” Nabuuma said.
Judge Henry Kawesa of the High Court was among the graduates that attained a doctorate in theology at Miracle Bible College in partnership with Life Christian University.
In his remarks shortly after receiving his certificate, Kawesa said people go through a lot in their lives, but only if they seek refuge in God are they safer than an army of thousands of men.
He also appealed to the Ugandans to always have time to read the word of God, adding that He has always been there for us and that He will be there in both times of joy and sorrow.
Senior Pastor of the Miracle Centre Cathedral, Robert Kayanja, said it is very important for one to study biblical studies, even if they aren’t pastors or Christians. He suggested that everything that happens currently was foretold in the Bible.
“The Bible is a library. From the Bible, we get to know that Jacob was the first veterinary doctor, and Adam was the first farmer. “The knowledge about architecture, military science, shipbuilding, economy, and astronomy, among others, is already written in the Bible,” Kayanja noted.
Kayanja, however, said that for someone to understand the Bible, he or she needs proper interpretation because one mistake may lead one astray.
“According to Job Chapter 33, it reads that if you are stuck and need help, find one of a thousand to interpret what you have been given.”
