Winner of this year’s edition of Lagos Women Run slated for Saturday, November 11, 2023 will go home with N1.5 million while the first 20 runners to get to the finish line will get different prize monies.
Coordinator of the race, Tayo Popoola, told journalists that every arrangement has been put in place for a successful race tagged ‘ November to Remember” just as she commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu for his support and approving the increase of the prize money from one million naira to N1.5 million.
“I’m happy that arrangements are in top gear for a successful race and everybody is looking forward to the event which is used to showcase Lagos State to the whole world.
” It’s equally important I commend the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for increasing the prize money and also approving cash prizes for the first twenty athletes to get to the finish line and we shall use the race to showcase Lagos State to the outside world as well as showcase women.
She announced that about 8000 women registered for the race which will be flagged off at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
According to her, the athletes will run through TBS, NITEL, Bonny Camp, Bar Beach through Falomo before terminating the race at Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos.
Popoola also explained that they are working with all the security agencies to ensure adequate security while there will also be prizes for veterans.
