64 Teams Set For Ubong King Cup In Lagos

No fewer than 64 teams from both U-15 boys and female categories are expected to take part in the third edition of Ubong King memorial football competition scheduled to kick on Saturday at the Elegbeta Sports centre, Apogbo and Nigeria Railway Institute, Yaba, Lagos.

The competition is sponsored by Dr. (Amb) Unyime- Ivy King, Executive Director of Protection Plus Services Limited in memory of her late husband.

Chairman Organising Committee, Taofeek Ajibola, confirmed that 32 teams that have registered for each category would battle for honours in the next few weeks.

Ajibola explained that the competition is being sponsored by an influential person and urged the participating teams to desist from social vices that can bring the tourney into disrepute.

“All the teams are set for this much anticipated tournament.”

Preliminaries matches in the boys’ and girls’ categories will be played at Elegbata sports complex Lagos Island and Nigeria Railway Institute playing ground.
