The highly anticipated 4th edition of the Art for Economic Development Festival will take place from February 8 to 15, 2025, at Idiroko in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Bonny Abisogun Botoku, CEO of Integration Art Palace and Tour.
This year’s festival promises to be a transformative experience that highlights the vital contributions of cross-border trade to economic development.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Cross Border Trade: What It Is, Why It Matters.” This topic is particularly relevant in today’s interconnected global economy, fostering discussions on the importance of trade in driving sustainable development, boosting local economies, and enhancing cultural exchanges.
Exhibition Director Dr. Johnson Oladesu, Head of the Fine Arts Department at Olabisi Onabanjo University, will oversee a series of engaging exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions featuring industry experts, artists, and thought leaders.
The collaborative efforts of the NCS Ogun 1 Area Command, endorsed by Comptroller MS Shuaibu, demonstrate strong institutional support for the festival’s objectives, in partnership with the Joint Inter-border Security Forum.
Attendees will enjoy a rich program filled with artistic expressions, trade discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at promoting economic growth and cultural understanding. The festival will serve as a platform for artisans, traders, and cultural enthusiasts to share knowledge, explore partnerships, and celebrate the rich tapestry of African art and trade.
“This festival is more than just an exhibition; it is a call to action for all stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions about the role of trade in our economic future,” said Dr Bonny Abisogun Botoku.
“With the endorsement of the Nigeria Customs Service Ogun 1 Area Command, we are excited to bring together a diverse audience that is passionate about fostering economic development through art and commerce.”
