Head Coach of 36 Lion Football Club, Francis Akinshola Akinrele has sounded note of warnings to the clubs that are participating in the forthcoming Jagaban Cup to beware of his team.
The Jagaban Cup which is powered by 36 Lion Investment, Diamond Sports Management Limited and Enigma Group would kick off from 26 -29 March at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formerly Known as Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Eight selected clubs that have football pedigree in Lagos and Ogun are expected to take part in the four days scouting football tournament tagged ‘Jagaban Cup’.
The selected teams are defending champions, Smart City, Ikorodu City, Dino FC, Imperial FC, Broad City, Mavlon and The Charlesann.
Akinrele while speaking with our correspondent on Wednesday morning said his team are in top shape and ready to face any team that come their way.
“We are not relenting on our training and the boys are ready for the Jagaban Cup. Presently, the spirit in camp is high and it would be difficult for any team to beat us. I know the teams that are coming for Jagaban Cup and that is the reason we intensify our training so that my boys would face any team when the scouting tournament kicks off,” he said.
Asked if 36 Lion could win the tournament, Akinrele popularly known as Baba Arigo expressed confidence that his team are in the Jagaban Cup for business boasting that his target is to reach the final stage.
“Why not, we can win it. We are favourites and we are planning to do well in the tournament. We are not afraid of defending champions or any club. Our target is to reach the final and win the tournament,” he said.
