2025 World Pharmacist Day: Lagos Takes Healthcare To Ikorodu Communities

In commemoration of the Year 2025 World Pharmacist Day, General Hospital Ijede took health care beyond the hospital walls with a vibrant free medical outreach at Gberigbe market, Ikorodu bringing essential health services, nutritional guidance and awareness of the pharmacists vital role directly to the community.

With this year’s World Pharmacist Day themed : ” Think Health* Think Pharmacist”. The hospital pharmacy team led an impactful initiative to bridge health care gaps by offering free blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing and nutritional advice to market traders and residents.

The Director of Pharmaceutical Services, General Hospital Ijede, Pharm. Olubunmi Elizabeth Talabi emphasized the importance of medication adherence, proper drug storage, and how Pharmacists play crucial roles in chronic disease management and lifestyle modification, while Pharm. Victor Ilesanmi discussed how nutrition plays key roles on our overall health and offered nutritional advice to participants.

General Hospital Ijede continues to lead in community centered health care in Lagos State, using platforms like World Pharmacist Day to promote wellness, education and trust in health care professionals.
