1XBET Nigeria Limited has announced the sum of N2.1 million naira as the prize money for the winners of Lagos 1XBET Football Community Cup scheduled to kick off on 3, October,2023 across the designated centres.
40 community based football teams in Lagos are expected to feature in the inaugural edition of the competition which would last for six weeks.
Speaking at the press conference held yesterday in Lagos, Chairman of 1XBET Nigeria Limited, Dr Femi Babalola who expressed satisfaction with the number of teams featuring in the tournament announced that the company has concluded plans to splash N1million naira to the eventual champions with a giant trophy, while second and third position would pocket N500,000 and N300,000 respectively.
Aside the N1.2 million for the three teams, Babalola said there would be a financial rewards for the outstanding players of the tournament ranging from Higest goal scorer, Most valuable player, Best Goalkeeper, Best coach,and most well behaved team.
Babalola explained the reasons behind the sponsoring the community football tournament saying that his company is committed to football development in the state.
“We are sponsoring this community football tournament as part of our corporate social responsibility and also we want to contribute our own quota to the football development not only in Lagos but the country at large,”he said.
In his response, media consultant who doubles as tournament director, Waheed Akanni thanked the titled sponsor for its commitment to football development in the state and admonished the participating teams to play the game according to the rules and regulations.
“What can i say than to thank 1XBET Nigeria Limited for this laudable projects. The projects are geared towards community-based football clubs in the state and coaches who work with the teams. It is going to be an exciting competition and wish all the teams all the best in their outings,” he said.
