Some of the Lagos football fans are still lamenting the early exit of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club in the ongoing 1XBET Community Cup which is taking place at Nitel playground, Oshodi Lagos.
Prince Kazeem Eletu suffered 0-2 defeat against Vinmo Energy Football Club last week in the round of 32 of the competition.
Some of the fans who watched the entertaining match described defeat of Eletu boys as unfortunate saying that the best team had eliminated from the tournament.
While some fans expressed disappointment despite good performance of Eletu boys, others said Eletu played good football but they were poor in goal scoring.
“Fans will miss Prince Kazeem Eletu FC in the group stage because they play free flow football and they know how to knock opponents on ground unfortunately we won’t see them in the group stage,”said some of the fans who spoke to our correspondent after defeat.
Meanwhile Coach of Vinmo Energy Football Club of Ajegunle,Ganagana Efe has confessed that Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club outplayed his team but noted that his opponents are not clinical in front of goal which contributed to their early exit in the annual football competition.
“I must confess that we played a team that are technically good and tactically sound on the field of play unfortunately they are not good in goal scoring.
“Of course they outplayed us especially when they were looking for equaliser but I must commend my players for their tactical discipline and doggedness exhibited throughout the match,”he said.
A total of 20 teams have qualified for the group stage.Five teams would be drawn in four groups, while best two in each group would qualify for the quarter final stage.
