The finalists for LASU Conference of the maiden edition of the ongoing 1XBET Community Football Championship have emerged, as Joint FC nicked closest rivals Young Stars FC 1-0 in the decider of group A.
Nnabukwu Elokue scored the lone goal of the game for his side in the 14th minute of the first half. Young Stars came back stronger in the second stanza, and almost got the equaliser through the penalty spot, but goalkeeper Salami Wasiu, who has been in tremendous form through the conference’s games pulled the save that eventually gave his side the ticket to the final.
Ahead of the conference’s final game between Chekas FC who lead the log in group B and Joint FC, both coaches have been bullish, promising to defeat each and pick the ticket to the final 8, slated for next month.
Meanwhile, prominent ex-Nigeria international players including Victor Agali, Tajudeen Disu, Michael Dominic, Benson Edema, Wasiu Ipaye and a host of others, are expected to grace Friday’s match at the LASU Stadium.
