A total of 16 teams are expected to battle for honours in the fourth edition of U-15 Seamoriow Football League championship
The much much anticipated championship would begin on Monday morning at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Abaranje Road, Ikotun, Alimosho, Lagos.
In a draw ceremony held on Thursday morning, four teams were drawn in four groups as best two teams would qualify for the quarter final stage.
Group A comprises of Seamoriow FA,Samjason FA,Yomaraz FA and 36 Lion.Group B are made up of Froltish FA, Right To Smile FA,Adhoc FA and Super Accurate FA.
Group C consist of Sammy FA,Dazzle FA, Pumah FA and Dynamic FA while group D was made up of defending champions, B United, Royalty Athletic FA,VI-Foot FA and Miracle FA.
Speaking at the draws, the convener of the tournament, Oluwaseyi Amos expressed satisfaction with the draws and urged the participating teams to play according to the rules and regulations.
Amos who doubles as cup donor explained his involvement in the championship and promised the teams good organisation and fair officiating throughout the tournament.
“My involvement in this competition is to put smile on the faces of these young players and ensure that they come to limelight.I will urge our coaches, players and fans to keep to the rules and stay away from social vices,”he said.
Speaking in the same vein, vice chairman of Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Dotun Coker disclosed that the championship is endorsed by state football ruling body and reminded the teams the rules governing the championship.
He said any club or team found wanting during or after the match would be sanctioned accordingly and pleaded with the teams to be puntual during their matches saying that lateness to the match venue is not allowed.
In her own comment, Immediate past councilor in Igando/Ikotun LCDA, Hon Sherifat Oyinkansola Idowu who attended the draws said the competition would help the young kids to showcase their talents and urged them to give their best throughout the championship.
Meanwhile the participating teams also involved in the screening exercise ahead of the championship.
The screening exercise was carried out in fairly manner as organisers ensured that players within the requirements were screened to feature for their clubs in the championship.
More than 100 players took part in the screening exercise on Thursday afternoon which was conducted and supervised by screening committee led by Olayinka Olajide.
