16 Teams Battle For Fasanya Cup At Sango As Organisers Caution Teams Against Violence

Sixteen teams have shown their readiness to feature in the inauguration edition of Fasanya football tournament tagged’ Victory Cup’

The competition would kick off tomorrow by 1pm at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Otta, Ogun State.

Chairman Heyfash Football Academy, Amos Ajayi Fasanya who is sponsoring the tournament would be among the invited guests that would declare the competition open as the participating teams’ representatives would be in attendance for the opening match.

Two matches have lined up for Sunday as Heyfash Academy face Achievers FC by 1pm, while Breakthrough tackle Gladiators FC by 3pm.

Action resumes on Monday when A B F confront Focus FC by 10am,Action Boyz tackle Santos FC by 11am,while BYT confront Youn City by 1pm.

Tournament coordinator, Akinlawon Akinola said all the teams are fully prepared for the tournament and urged them to shun soccer violence during and after the match .

He disclosed that the cup donor is a man of peace and he would not be happy if any team cause trouble during the tournament.

“We thank God for the registration and submission of the registration forms by the teams.Presenly we are looking forward to the opening which would attract sons and daughters of Sango-Otta and its environs.

“My candid advice for the teams is to abide by the rules and regulations of the competition and also shun violence during the game. I wish all the teams best of luck in their outings and thank our sponsor for his commitment to the grassroots football development in Sango and Ogun state generally,”he said.

Meanwhile, in the group fixtures released by the organisers, group A consists of Action Boyz, Santos FC, BYT and Young City.Group B are made up of Breakthrough FC, Gladiators, Fidson FC and Cannaland FC. Group C comprises Heyfash Academy, Achievers, Adiyan FC and Dominion FC, while group D are A B F,Focus FC , Excel FC and Bouncing FC.
